More with s'mores
As if s’mores weren’t decadent enough, we’ve got a way to level up this summer staple with only one extra step: Add a dollop of Compliments Caramel Spread to the graham crackers before assembling your s’more. Just make sure you get those marshmallows nice and toasty for the full effect.
Bacon makes everything better, and s’mores are no exception to this golden rule. So, next time you s’more (yes, it’s a verb in our books), try adding a piece of crisply cooked Compliments Naturally Smoked Thick-Cut Bacon to add a salty touch to the sweet, smoky, smooth, crunchy, ooey-gooey flavour and texture explosion that s’mores already serve.
Mini ice cream s’mores sandwiches
It’s the best of both worlds – an ooey-gooey warm s’more and a cool, creamy ice cream sammy – all in one. Arrange marshmallows on graham crackers and broil until golden and puffed. Drizzle a spoonful of melted chocolate on the marshmallows, and let cool. Top each with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream, and press a second graham cracker gently on top. Serve and enjoy!
Here’s a tip for enjoying s’mores without risking sticky hands: Serve them on a stick! Place finely crushed graham crackers into a shallow dish. Insert a stick into each marshmallow, and dip it one-third of the way into melted chocolate and then in the graham crumbs. Refrigerate until firm on a waxed paper-lined tray.
Fresh fruit, melted cheese, and chocolate come together in this unexpected yet elegant (and extra-tasty) s’more. Here’s how to make them: Arrange graham crackers on a baking sheet and top each of them with a piece of chocolate and then Brie. Broil until the chocolate melts and the cheese softens. Remove from the oven and top each with a peach slice, followed by a graham cracker.
How to melt chocolate
Melting chocolate in the microwave is easy. Simply chop the chocolate, place it in a microwave-safe bowl, and microwave on high for 20- to 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until melted and smooth. Dig in!
